About this board game
River Valley Glassworks is a game for 1–5 players that takes about 45 minutes, in which entrepreneurial woodland creatures draft glass from a market of river tiles and arrange it in their shops.
Beautiful glass pieces found along the river have attracted pioneers eager to set up shop. As one of these entrepreneurs, you must carefully manage your inventory while seeking the most valuable opportunities in the shifting river market.
To draft glass, play a piece from your inventory into the river. Each river tile accepts only a specific shape, and the piece must be placed in a space adjacent to the glass you want to take. After drafting, the river shifts forward, revealing new pieces and fresh possibilities.
- Draft from the river: Use pieces from your inventory to access the glass you want.
- Match the shapes: Each river tile allows only a specific shape to be played there.
- Build your shop: Place collected glass strategically to influence your score.
- Manage glass types: Complete rows and columns for bonus points, while avoiding too many pieces of one type.
Your shop’s arrangement matters greatly in River Valley Glassworks. Filling rows and columns can earn valuable bonus points, but collecting too many pieces of a single type brings negative points.
With its changing river market and score-sensitive shop layouts, every draft presents a choice between immediate opportunities and a more carefully arranged collection of glass.
