About this board game
Titan is a classic fantasy strategy game for 2–6 players, released in 1980, with games lasting about 240 minutes. Players command legions of mythical creatures across a masterboard, seeking recruits, victory points, and the defeat of opposing armies.
The game unfolds across two connected realms: the masterboard and a collection of battleboards. On the masterboard, legions roam the world, gather bigger and more powerful monsters, and confront rival forces. When combat begins, the action moves to the battleboard that corresponds to the area where the fight takes place.
- Masterboard movement: Guide legions as they search for recruits and pursue enemy armies.
- Battleboard combat: Resolve conflicts with dice in a battle environment linked to the contested area.
- Growing power: Use points to recruit Angels and Archangels and strengthen your Titan.
After the dice are rolled and the battle ends, the surviving army returns to the masterboard with the spoils of war: points. These points help develop the Titan, the leader character at the center of each player’s army. As the score rises, the Titan becomes increasingly powerful and can eventually kill most other characters with a single blow.
That power comes with a decisive risk. If a player’s Titan dies, that player is eliminated, making every major confrontation potentially final. With its combination of roaming legions, monster recruitment, tactical battles, and escalating leaders, Titan offers deep strategic possibilities for its devoted following.
The winner is the player whose Titan remains standing. The last Titan standing becomes the ruler of all.
