About this board game

Dragonbond: Lords of Vaala is a power struggle for 1–4 players that plays in about 60 minutes. Set in a world without gods, it challenges you to raid as a dragon, raise armies as a general, cast mighty spells, and collect 10 Power tokens to win.

Each round begins with a tense planning phase. Players secretly place action cards face down to program their actions across the board. Once one player passes, the resolution phase begins, revealing and resolving those actions in order. Move between regions, attack enemies, collect Power, or spend it to cast spells from your character’s unique Vaala deck.

Dragons and generals offer distinct strategic experiences. Generals raise and customize armies in different regions, using them to control territory and harvest Power. Dragons can gain Power by devouring units, but they also have a health track and may need to rest and recover after suffering too many wounds.

• Dragonbond: When a general and dragon enter the same region peacefully, they may become bonded, unlocking a unique ability that lets them interact and play as a team for the rest of the game.
• Dice-driven combat: Battles feature critical hits, counterattacks, and retreats for a wargame-like feel.
• Power struggles: If Power is scarce, a combatant can steal a Power token from an opponent by entering combat and dealing more hits than that opponent can take.

With secret programming, asymmetric roles, spells, and shifting alliances, Dragonbond: Lords of Vaala turns every action into a contest for influence and destiny.
