Shakespeare: Backstage is the first expansion for Shakespeare, supporting 1–4 players and a play time of 90 minutes. It adds new ways to prepare for a successful theater season before the curtain rises.

The backstage is filled with useful specialists and fresh opportunities. Lord Chamberlain can provide additional stunning actors, while a prompter helps those who forget their lines. A milliner supplies costumes with panache, and an architect can redesign the frontage of your theater.

This expansion introduces several new elements to the Shakespeare experience:

• Backstage cards with special abilities

Backstage cards offer an innovative way to use cylinders that were not wagered. Place these cylinders on the deck, then spend them on special abilities that can help shape your preparations for the performance.

These abilities include placing fewer rest tokens, adding hats to actors, and increasing ambiance. With its new backstage roles, objectives, costumes, and stage set, Shakespeare: Backstage gives your theater season fresh tools to help you shine when the lights are on you.
