About this expansion

Anachrony: Future Imperfect is a modular expansion for Anachrony for 2–4 players, with an approximately 150-minute play time. Released in 2020, it adds four new modules that expand the game beyond new horizons.

Each module can be played on its own, while the modules are also compatible with one another and with most past and future Anachrony modules and expansions. Together, they introduce new strategic possibilities, risks, interactions, and ways to shape the endgame.

  • Neutronide Buildings: Four new buildings become increasingly effective as you add more Power Plants.
  • Hypersync: Perform a Capital action without placing an Exosuit, then use the new Hypersync Action in the future to make that placement affect the past. This flexibility increases the risk of Paradoxes. The module supports 1–4 players; solo play requires the Fractures of Time expansion.
  • Quantum Loops: Warp beyond your own timeline into parallel universes, where resources may be more plentiful, locals may join your cause, and technology can shorten your travels through time. A new Warp tile provides access to Quantum Effect cards, but closing a loop requires a real Breakthrough. This module supports 1–4 players; solo play requires Fractures of Time.
  • Intrigues of the Council: Add World Council politics, increased player interaction, and customizable endgame scoring objectives. Send Exosuits to the right place at the right time to gain bonus resources and compete for an Agenda tile tableau that replaces the base game’s Endgame Condition scoring. This module is recommended for 3–4 players.

With its mix of escalating buildings, temporal manipulation, parallel universes, and political maneuvering, Future Imperfect gives Anachrony players several distinct ways to customize their experience and explore new strategies.
