About this expansion

Keltis: Neue Wege, Neue Ziele is a 2009 expansion for 2–4 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. It adds a new board to Keltis, introducing intersecting roads, changing point values, and a new way to collect rewards.

This expansion requires the components from the basic game, except for its board and tokens. The replacement board is arranged in portrait orientation rather than the original landscape layout, creating a different playing environment and requiring new ways of thinking.

Instead of five separate roads, the new board presents a network of intersecting and overlapping roads. As you progress, you can continue onto a different color or choose which direction to take. The values along the routes also change during the journey rather than simply increasing from one space to the next.

  • Use the new portrait-style board with intersecting and overlapping routes.
  • Choose different directions and continue on another color when the network allows it.
  • Collect stones from five colored cairns placed on the board.
  • Score 10 points for collecting stones in all five colors, or for collecting three stones of the same color.

Five cairns stand on the board, each holding a stack of five stones in one particular color. When you reach a space on a cairn’s track, claim the top stone, turning route decisions into opportunities for set collection and bonus points.

Keltis: Neue Wege, Neue Ziele was the first, and to date only, expansion for Keltis. It is also included in the 2012 edition of Keltis.
