About this expansion
Cyclades: Hecate is a 2011 game add-on for 2–5 players, with a listed play time of 90 minutes. It was given away at Spiel 2011 in Essen, Germany, and requires the Cyclades: Hades expansion in order to use Hecate.
The centerpiece is a Divine Favor tile for Hecate. When received, this favor provides a Priestess card for free. It also introduces a powerful way to connect islands and move troops without relying on fleets.
- Receive a Priestess card at no cost.
- Once per turn, pay 2 GP to place Hecate’s columns on two different islands, regardless of who owns them.
- The two islands become connected by an underground passage.
- Use the passage to move troops between the connected islands without fleets to carry them.
If Hecate comes back into play, you may pay 2 GP to move either or both columns. If Hecate does not return, the columns remain where they were placed, preserving the underground connection.
The giveaway contains one Hecate Divine Favor tile, two Hecate columns, and six cloth bags: one for each of the five player colors and one for Hades. Cyclades: Hecate adds a distinct positional option to the Hades expansion, combining a free Priestess card with a paid connection that can change how troops travel between islands.
