About this expansion
Great Western Trail: Promo Station Master Tiles is a 2017 promotional addition for 2–4 players, with a 150-minute play time. It adds two alternative Station Master Tiles to the Great Western Trail experience.
The tiles are included in the Great Western Trail: Rails to the North expansion and were also enclosed with French Plato Magazine #95. This promo is jointly offered by Gigamic and Plato Magazine. A Dutch version also exists through 999games, although it has not been made available for purchase and was provided only to owners of the Dutch first edition of the base game.
To use the promo tiles, shuffle them together with the Station Master Tiles from the base game. During the second step of setup, draw five tiles at random from the seven available tiles and place them on the five Station Master spaces. Return the two unused tiles to the box.
The promotional tiles introduce the following effects:
- Immediate action: Gain 12 dollars.
- Permanent benefit: Two permanent certificates.
Neither of these two promotional tiles provides victory points at the end of the game. Because only five of the seven available Station Master Tiles enter play, the promo adds variation to the setup while keeping the selection random. Great Western Trail: Promo Station Master Tiles is a compact promotional set for players who want additional Station Master options alongside the base game tiles.
