About this expansion

Runebound: The Dark Forest is an expansion for Runebound: Second Edition, designed for 2–6 players with a listed play time of 120 minutes.

As the elves of Terrinoth decline, the forests grow more dangerous. The trees draw closer, the creatures become deadlier, and the air grows darker. This expansion brings that threatening atmosphere to the existing Runebound adventure.

The Dark Forest adds 30 new adventure cards to the basic game. These cards introduce an assortment of dangerous monsters, encounters, and events, expanding the adventure decks with new content while remaining part of the Runebound series.

No new rules are required for this expansion. Players can simply shuffle the new cards into their adventure decks and begin playing with them immediately, making the addition straightforward for groups already familiar with Runebound: Second Edition.

Released in 2005, Runebound: The Dark Forest offers a direct way to deepen the setting’s darker forest theme. Its cards can be added seamlessly to the basic game, giving players a broader selection of adventures while preserving the existing rules framework.
