About this board game

’65: Squad-Level Combat in the Jungles of Vietnam is a squad-level tactical game for 2–3 players, with games lasting about 240 minutes. Set during the early battles of the Vietnam War, it covers engagements from Ia Drang to Operation Starlight and many actions in between.

As a commander, you will move and fight across three geomorphic game boards while attempting to outplay your opponent in one of eight nail-biting historical scenarios. The game’s large counters represent squads, Leaders, Heroes, Snipers, M-48 tanks, Pt-76 tanks, and more, giving each battle a striking tabletop presence.

Combat is driven by a deck of 54 action cards, creating a strong sense of uncertainty throughout play. You may be ready to advance your sappers, only to wonder whether your opponent is holding a fire card for the perfect moment. The cards also contain much of the information needed during play, helping keep the action moving without constant reference to the rule book.

’65 is designed as a focused experience for gamers who enjoy tactical decisions, historical scenarios, and the tension of not knowing exactly what the opposing commander can do next. Its illustrated boards and oversized counters make the battlefield easy to see while adding atmosphere to every scenario.
