About this expansion

7 Wonders: Leaders – Esteban is a 2012 promotional card for 7 Wonders, supporting 2–7 players in a game lasting about 40 minutes.

Esteban introduces a distinctive once-per-game effect. When used, it forces all players to pick a card from the same hand again, then play that card as normal.

This effect creates a shared moment for the whole table, as every player revisits a card selection together. Because the ability can be used only once per game, choosing when to activate Esteban is an important part of using the promotional card.

The card was given out at Gateway 2012, held by Strategicon Conventions, and was also available at Essen 2012. Esteban is Antoine Bauza’s baby son, giving this unusual promotion a personal connection to the designer.

Like the other 7 Wonders promotional cards, Esteban could be ordered directly from publisher Repos Production through the BGG forum. Its limited promotional history makes it a notable addition for players and collectors interested in the wider 7 Wonders release.

Whether used for its unusual table-wide decision or collected as part of the game’s promotional material, 7 Wonders: Leaders – Esteban adds a single memorable ability to a 2–7 player session.
