About this board game

Adventurous is a cooperative tile-laying game for 1–4 players that takes about 15 minutes. Sail across a mysterious ocean, extend your route, and discover fantastical marvels while trying to complete your journey safely.

On each turn, the active player chooses how to develop the voyage. They may draw two path cards and place them so they extend the dotted line marking the ship’s journey. Alternatively, they may place one of two available marvels, covering the specific set of required encounter icons shown on that marvel and following any additional placement restrictions.

Every decision shapes the route and affects the dangers still visible on the ocean. When no further cards can be placed, count the remaining encounter icons of each type. If any type exceeds its threshold, the expedition immediately loses.

If the crew survives, score the journey based on the route you created and the marvels you discovered. Points come from path segments and non-whirlpool icons, with an additional reward for placing all marvels. Unplaced marvels and visible whirlpools reduce the final score.
