Alien Frontiers: Outer Belt

About this expansion

Alien Frontiers: Outer Belt is an expansion for 2–5 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes and support for up to 6 players when combined with Alien Frontiers: Factions.

This expansion extends the original playing area with a side-board that adds a new territory to the moon. It also introduces the nearby Asteroid Belt, giving players a new area to explore and claim during the game.

The Outer Belt includes ships and colony tokens for an additional player, helping expand Alien Frontiers for larger groups. Its new board elements add further locations and opportunities without changing the central setting of the game.

Asteroid Counters move through the belt as the game progresses. Their positions change their docking requirements, so the conditions for reaching and claiming an asteroid shift over time.

Staking a claim to an asteroid can reward you with resources, a derelict ship, or new alien devices. These changing requirements and varied rewards make the Asteroid Belt a distinctive addition to the expanding frontier.

Released in 2014, Alien Frontiers: Outer Belt accommodates 2 to 5 players on its own. When paired with Alien Frontiers: Factions, the expansion supports games with up to 6 players.
