Ambush!: Purple Heart is a solo expansion for one player, featuring six scenarios designed for experienced characters and an approximate play time of 240 minutes. Released in 1985, it is the second expansion for Ambush!

Purple Heart expands the setting beyond the base game’s focus on France in 1944. Its scenarios take you across several locations and periods, offering new challenges for players ready to continue their Ambush! experience.

The expansion adds more than scenarios alone. It introduces new weapons, vehicles, enemies, and maps, giving experienced characters fresh situations to face and new content to explore.

The six scenarios visit four distinct areas:

• The Ardennes in December 1944
• South of Caen in July 1944
• The Rhone Valley in 1944
• Western Germany in spring 1945

With its broader geography and challenging scenario design, Purple Heart is aimed at players who have experience with Ambush! and want to move beyond the original game’s 1944 France setting. The combination of six new scenarios and additional weapons, vehicles, enemies, and maps makes this a substantial expansion for a single-player session.
