About this board game

Ancient Terrible Things: Reawakened is a pulp-horror tabletop game for 1–4 players, with a play time of 120 minutes. Each player takes the role of an intrepid—and foolish—adventurer exploring a dark jungle river in search of Secrets.

On each turn, travel to a Fateful Location and face an Ominous Encounter. Roll dice to create combinations such as runs, pairs, three or more of a kind, or a single die showing a particular number or higher. Use these results, along with tokens and cards, to overcome Encounters and gain Secrets.

The game ends at the Inexplicable Event, and the player with the most Secrets wins. Dice combinations also help you acquire four important resources:

• Focus tokens activate Swag cards, helping you manipulate dice results.
• Mystery tokens can overcome any Encounter when visiting the Yawning Chasm.
• Treasure tokens purchase useful Swag cards from the Trading Post, providing a permanent game effect.
• Feat tokens let you play one-shot Feat cards from your hand.

Ancient Terrible Things: Reawakened is the third implementation of the Dicequest game system, following Ancient Terrible Things and Konja. This edition brings together edited and revised content from previous iterations and expansions, alongside renovated art and language-independent graphic design.

The result is presented as a new, definitive edition of the game, combining dice-driven encounters, resource management, card effects, and pulp-horror exploration in one dark river journey.
