About this board game
Arkham Noir: Case #3 – Infinite Gulfs of Darkness is a solitaire card game for one player, with a playing time of approximately 30 minutes. Inspired by the interconnected stories of H.P. Lovecraft and other authors, it reimagines supernatural mysteries as noir detective cases.
Each case stands alone, offering a focused investigation with its own shuffled deck. During play, add cards to open cases and create lines of investigation as you work to connect the evidence. The central objective is to score five “puzzle” Clue cards, which together allow you to piece together the Big Picture.
In Infinite Gulfs of Darkness, Howard Lovecraft investigates events based on four stories:
- From Beyond (1920)
- Nyarlathotep (1920)
- The Haunter of the Dark (1935)
- Robert Bloch’s The Shadow from the Steeple (1950)
Every newly shuffled deck begins a unique challenge, while adjustable difficulty levels accommodate players of different experience levels. The investigation is a race against the game’s limits: solve the case by gathering the required Clue cards before running out of time or mental stability.
With its solitary format, standalone case structure, and card-driven investigation system, Arkham Noir offers a compact noir mystery rooted in Lovecraftian fiction. Case #3: Infinite Gulfs of Darkness was released in 2021.
