About this board game
Astra Titanus is a solitaire space opera battle game for 1 player, with sessions lasting approximately 45 minutes. You take the role of Admiral, commanding fleets sent to defend beleaguered frontier worlds against a gigantic alien war machine: the STAR TITAN.
Set at the end of the Exodus Wars, the game depicts the first interstellar battle between four post-diaspora star empires. Their war-weary militaries unite and dispatch massive fleets of capital ships and escorts at faster-than-light speeds, confronting a single robotic ship that dwarfs them all.
The Titan is controlled by 20 control cards. These cards determine its movement, special weapon use, and targeting priorities, creating the actions and threats you must respond to during the battle. Human ships jump across space using FTL drives as you direct the fleet against the overwhelming might of the Astra Titanus.
Combat features powerful science-fiction weaponry, including energy beams capable of shattering small moons and missiles that accelerate to a substantial fraction of the speed of light. The game operates at a minute-turn scale, with one spaceship represented by each counter.
