About this board game

Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940 is a deluxe theater-level strategy war game for 2–4 players, with an approximately 360-minute play time. Designed and developed by Larry Harris, it uses the updated rules established in Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition.

The game presents a large-scale conflict across the Pacific. Imperial Japan faces Allied powers including China, the United States, England, and the new playable ANZAC forces, formed by Australia and New Zealand. China fields more forces than ever before, but needs support from its allies to withstand Japan’s expansion.

Two new combat units make their debut here: Tactical Bombers and Mechanized Infantry. New rules for neutral nations, naval and air bases, kamikaze attacks, and convoy disruption add further depth and historical detail to the experience.

  • Oversized 35-by-32-inch board, measuring 89 by 81 cm
  • More than 450 pieces with deluxe components
  • Local storage boxes for organizing the game’s components
  • Separate setup and national objectives for the 1940 scenario

Axis & Allies: Pacific 1940 can be played on its own or combined with Axis & Allies: Europe 1940. When joined, the two games create a global 1940 scenario for 2–6 players on a combined board measuring 5 feet wide by 32 inches high, or 178 by 81 cm.
