Axis Empires: Ultimate Edition is a 2023 strategic World War II game for 2–4 players, with an advertised play time of 3600 minutes. It combines a completely new edition of Axis Empires: Totaler Krieg and Axis Empires: Dai Senso with expanded content for exploring alternative paths through global conflict.

The edition includes four new maps, 8 1/2 countersheets, 550 cards, and five full-color rules booklets. New optional rules and scenarios let players explore East versus West “Separate Peace” situations, while Fortunes of War cards can introduce unexpected surprises during play.

Also included is Schiffskrieg, an air-and-naval expansion for players seeking more detail than abstract support units provide. Air assets and ships, down to the cruiser level, must be based on the map and moved to meet developing threats. The expansion covers air-naval combat, commerce raiding, anti-submarine warfare, and naval construction while preserving the design elegance associated with Krieg.

Dice of Decision II expands the Random Campaign Generator featured in Totaler Krieg. It creates very different Second World Wars from alternate developments in the Great War, the 1920s, and the 1930s, including possibilities involving Russia, Germany, and the Great Depression.

Its new Asia and Pacific content adds scenarios involving the Washington Naval Treaty, Japan’s 1931 involvement in Manchuria, and Indian independence under Gandhi. European and Pacific alternate histories can link together to create an original Global War story, making Axis Empires: Ultimate Edition a broad framework for dramatic historical “what if?” campaigns.
