About this board game

Basari: Das Kartenspiel is a 3–5-player card game that takes about 30 minutes to play. Across three rounds, players compete for gemstones, workers, and victory points by making simultaneous decisions and negotiating over contested actions.

At the start of each round, every player receives a bazaar card showing a combination of gemstones, victory points, and workers. Each player then secretly chooses one of three actions: draw an additional bazaar card for more workers, score the victory points on the card received that turn, or take the gemstones shown on it.

• One player chooses an action: that player carries it out.
• Two players choose the same action: they barter, offering increasingly valuable gems to one another. One player takes the offered gems, while the other takes the action.
• Three or more players choose the same action: the action is forfeited.

Players keep every card they are dealt. After negotiations and actions are complete, a round ends if one or more players have at least 15 workers on their cards. Each player who reaches that threshold scores 12 victory points.

Players also compare their gemstones by color. Whoever has the most gems of each color earns additional victory points, then returns some of those gems to the bank. Any gems left afterward are kept, the cards are shuffled together, and the next round begins.

After the third round, the player with the most victory points wins. With its blend of simultaneous action selection, gem management, and direct bargaining, Basari: Das Kartenspiel turns every choice into a potential opportunity—or a costly dispute.
