About this board game

Bomb Squad Academy is a 40-minute board game for 2–5 players about making risky wire cuts during a final bomb-disposal exam.

Your instructor has prepared three training bombs, but there is no way to truly defuse them. Instead, players compete to earn the most points by cutting valuable wires while avoiding the explosions that eventually follow.

Each bomb uses four decks of cards, representing its four wires, with a trigger track beside each deck. Every round, players secretly choose which wire to cut. They may also choose to hold back or call “Wait!”, preventing a wire from being cut before everyone reveals their decision simultaneously.

After the choices are revealed, cards are flipped from the selected decks. The value of each card determines how far its trigger moves down the track and how many points the cut earns. Cutting alone can be especially rewarding, while choosing the same wire as other players reduces its value compared with making a solo cut.
