About this expansion

Bonfire: Trees & Creatures is a 2021 board game expansion for 1–5 players, with games lasting around 130 minutes. The story continues on Asperia, where ancient trees return to life and the gnomefolk seek help from mysterious, mighty creatures.

This expansion develops the base game with three modules that can be combined with one another. It also adds the option to play with a fifth player, giving groups new ways to experience life and work among the gnomefolk.

Players can expand their cities by acquiring and placing tree tiles above their path tiles. These trees unlock useful bonuses during the game and introduce new ways to score at the end, adding another layer to the development of each city.

At the beginning of the game, each player drafts a creature card with a unique ability. These mysterious creatures give players distinctive powers as they work to expand their cities.

Every time the player who began the game places a new fate tile, an event card is drawn. Each event changes a certain rule and affects all players, ensuring that the conditions of play continue to shift throughout Bonfire: Trees & Creatures.
