About this board game
Bushido is a two-player martial arts dueling game that plays in about 30 minutes, challenging each fighter to prove their training superior.
Players begin with a card draft representing the training of their warriors. Once training is complete, the duel unfolds across a series of rounds in which each player chooses how to develop and use their fighter’s techniques.
During a round, players play technique cards from their hands or change their guards. These choices create a pool of combat dice, which players hope to use at the right moment to strike their opponent or defend against incoming attacks.
- Draft training cards for your fighter.
- Play technique cards or change guards during the duel.
- Build a pool of combat dice for attacks and defense.
- Block, evade, and strike while trying to maintain momentum.
Damage escalates quickly in Bushido, so simply attacking is not enough. Players must be able to block, evade, and strike simultaneously, responding to the changing encounter while looking for an opening.
Each exchange tests the choices made during training and the timing of every technique. Keep the momentum in your favor, protect your warrior from damaging attacks, and use your combat dice to turn an opportunity into a decisive blow.
The game ends when one warrior has bested the other. Victory belongs to the fighter whose preparation, technique, and reactions prove strongest in the duel.
