Cthulhu Wars: The Sleeper Expansion is a faction expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 90 minutes. It introduces Tsathoggua, the greed-crazed God of Entropy, whose faction turns indolence into a powerful virtue.

The Sleeper brings a distinctive approach to the battlefield. He can force enemy factions to make sacrifices to him, while also capturing and sacrificing enemy monsters. His abilities are designed to let him accomplish more with less, making him the most Power-efficient faction around.

Ancient sorceries give this faction several unusual tools. Some monsters can appear for free on the map by burrowing up from underground. Arcane wizards can teleport to an enemy player’s Faction Card and parasitize that faction’s special abilities, creating unexpected possibilities during play.

• Formless Spawn: Their battle strength equals the number of Formless Spawn on the map.
• Burrowing monsters: Certain creatures emerge onto the map without cost.
• Arcane wizards: Teleport to an enemy Faction Card and use its special abilities.
• Faction abilities: Cursed Slumber, Lethargy, Death from Below, and Burrow support an efficient style of play.

The Formless Spawn are the faction’s signature monster. With all four in play, each has a Combat value of 4, making a full group a formidable presence.

In playtesting, The Sleeper proved to be one of the most popular factions to play. It does not win more often than other factions, but its unusual abilities and entertaining play style make it a memorable addition to Cthulhu Wars. Released in 2015, this expansion offers a distinct way to experience the game.
