About this board game
DECKO is a surreal deckbuilding poker game for 2–5 players, played in about 60 minutes. Across twelve rounds, players compete to collect the most poker chips by building stronger hands and using special cards to reshape the game.
Each hand follows the structure of a traditional poker game. Players bet chips on their poker hands by raising or calling the bet, or they can fold to receive a free new card. The betting decisions create a contest between improving your hand, managing your chips, and deciding when to step away.
DECKO also gives players direct control over the cards they draw. Once per hand, each player can use the burn action to permanently remove one card from their deck. Thinning the deck can help focus future draws and make room for more useful cards.
- Buy supernatural poker cards to strengthen your deck.
- Use a variety of jokers to bend the rules.
- Fold for a free new card when staying in the hand is not worthwhile.
- Burn one card from your deck per hand to refine your options.
After each hand, players who did not win or fold get the chance to buy new special playing cards and jokers. These purchases increase their chances in later rounds, while the growing collection of effects makes each player increasingly powerful and asymmetric.
The result is a poker game that evolves as it is played. Build your deck, exploit supernatural cards, choose the right moments to bet or fold, and use jokers to bend the rules in your favor. After twelve rounds, the player with the most poker chips wins.
