About this board game

Dungeon Crusade: Book I – Genesis of Evil is a solo or cooperative sandbox dungeon crawl for 1–12 players, with a listed play time of 600 minutes. Released in 2020, it invites a party of heroes beneath a village besieged by evil.

Each visit to the ancient dungeon presents an overarching goal, while side quests and odd jobs from the tavern can shape the adventure. Six stalwart Heroes, accompanied by their trusty fetch hound Albus, must decide whether to split up and cover more ground or stay together when greater threats appear.

The dungeon is an active place filled with wandering monsters that move around the board. Some may become raiding monsters and head toward the village, adding another danger to your expedition. Along the way, you can mine minerals to craft enhancements for your weapons and search for rare and legendary artifacts.

  • Play solo or cooperatively with a party of heroes.
  • Pursue overarching goals, side quests, and tavern odd jobs.
  • Mine minerals, improve weapons, and seek powerful artifacts.
  • Send Albus back to the village to fetch a potion when needed.

Success brings a celebration, a grand feast, and gifts from the grateful village. Between dungeon expeditions, you can browse the ever-changing marketplace for new gear, gamble gold at the house of chance, visit a temple, and pray for assistance.

But evil never rests. In Dungeon Crusade, you will return to face tougher challenges, relying on the equipment, resources, and hard-won advantages gathered during your previous adventures.
