ELO Darkness

About this board game

ELO Darkness is a customizable MOBA-inspired card game for 1–4 players, with matches lasting about 75 minutes. Two players, or four in team-versus-team mode, battle across an arena where card play and board position shape the fight.

Each player commands a 40-card deck representing a team of five heroes across five different classes. Players can customize their team and play style, or begin with a draft in which they alternate selecting heroes from a pool of 30 different characters.

The board adds a distinctive tactical layer to the card duel. Combat takes place on every lane each turn, using simultaneous action selection followed by a back-and-forth phase. During this exchange, players can play Gank cards, activate combos, and use special abilities.

• Flexible hero cards: Play heroes in combat or discard them to gain Experience points and gold.
• Items and upgrades: Spend Experience and gold to buy and improve powerful items.
• Resource management: Farming and Backing phases help manage your hand, retreat from the map, and draw more cards.
• Monster objectives: Compete in simultaneous resource bidding during specific turns to conquer objectives.

There are no dice in ELO Darkness. Randomness is limited to card draws, while the Farming and Backing phases give players ways to manage that uncertainty and make tactical decisions.

The ultimate objective is to invade the opposing base, destroy enemy towers, and break through one of the lanes on the board. With deck customization, hero drafting, lane-based combat, and objective contests, every match combines strategic planning with an unfolding battlefield.
