About this expansion
Euphoria: Ignorance Is Bliss is an expansion for Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia for 1–6 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes.
While you were away, the Icarites descended from their lofty perch among the clouds and imposed a new way of life upon the Euphorians, Wastelanders, and Subterrans. This expansion asks whether their arrival represents a fresh start for the dystopian citizens—or whether history will repeat itself.
Ignorance Is Bliss is primarily an expansion of alternative content. It includes new recruit cards and market tiles that can be used instead of those from the original game. These new recruits and markets are not designed to be mixed with the original versions, giving you a distinct way to experience Euphoria.
- Alternative content: New recruit cards and market tiles replace the original versions rather than being combined with them.
- New recruit type: Add variety with a new kind of recruit card, without introducing a new faction.
- Automa mode: Play solo against an intelligent AI system, or optionally use it in two-player games to make them feel more like four-player games.
- Rule improvements: Updated rules, a New Antiques Bazaar board, and new components address feedback about frustrations and perceived imbalances.
The expansion also broadens the original game’s player count from 2–6 to 1–6 through its Automa system. Euphoria: Ignorance Is Bliss still works as an expansion to the standalone base game, while offering revised options for players who want alternative recruits and markets, solo play, or updated rules.
