About this expansion
Fort: Cats & Dogs Expansion is a 2021 expansion for 2–4 players that adds two pet modules to the Fort base game, with play lasting about 40 minutes. Use the dog module, the cat module, or both together, as desired.
Dogs are loyal, but they are also fussy. When you play a dog, it will usually go to your doghouse, provided you meet its needs. If you neglect a dog, it will wander off, so caring for your canine companions matters throughout the game.
Dogs also create a valuable end-game contest. The player with the most dogs in their doghouse scores seven points, giving the dog module a clear focus on meeting needs and building a loyal collection.
Cats work very differently. Their actions happen at specific times, and they move around frequently. A cat can be attracted to another player when that player’s yard contains cards of specific suits—even if the cat’s current owner has cards of those suits as well.
- Dogs: Meet their needs, keep them in your doghouse, and compete for seven end-game points.
- Cats: Track their timed actions, watch their movement, and protect your ownership as they respond to card suits.
- Flexible modules: Add dogs, cats, or both to your Fort game.
The more cats you have at the end of the game, the more points you score, making feline ownership another route to victory. With its contrasting pet systems, Fort: Cats & Dogs Expansion adds new decisions about care, timing, card suits, and end-game scoring to the Fort experience.
