About this board game
Friesematenten is a card game for 2–4 players that plays in about 45 minutes, challenging players to collect the right cards and reach 40 victory points.
The game revolves around building an economy before using money to build status. As cards are shuffled, the opportunities available can change, and you may need to buy victory points early rather than waiting for the ideal moment.
Friesematenten also features a range of powerful action cards. Finding the right price for these cards is part of the challenge, with auctions creating important decisions as players judge what each opportunity is worth.
- For 2–4 players
- Approximately 45 minutes of play
- Race to collect enough of the right cards for 40 victory points
- Build an economy, then convert money into status
- Use powerful action cards and compete in auctions
This version of Friesematenten streamlines the game for a broader audience, including players who may be less experienced with modern card games. It introduces new cards and completely new artwork, while removing the marker management from the main game.
Marker management is included in the expansion for players who want that additional element. With its combination of economic development, status building, card uncertainty, and auctions, Friesematenten asks you to balance long-term plans with the opportunities that appear along the way.
