About this board game
Gigamons is a memory and set-collection game for 2–4 players, with each game lasting around 15 minutes. Players reveal Elemons, search for matching pairs, and use special powers to gain an advantage while competing to capture the most Gigamons.
To set up, shuffle the Elemon tiles face down and arrange nine of them in a 3-by-3 grid. Place the seven Gigamon tiles and the Rock tiles beside the play area, then use the remaining Elemons as the draw deck. The youngest player takes the first turn.
On a turn, reveal two tiles from the grid. If they are different, turn them face down again. Polymon is wild and always forms a pair with any Elemon. If the revealed tiles match, keep the pair, resolve that Elemon’s power, and replace both tiles from the deck without looking at them.
- Floramon: Add the top tile of the draw pile to your group.
- Aeromon: Swap one of your tiles with a tile belonging to another player.
- Pyromon: Remove one tile in front of another player from the game.
- Hydromon: Secretly look at four tiles in the grid while everyone else closes their eyes.
- Geomon: Place a Rock on a grid tile until your next turn.
- Electromon: Take an extra turn.
Collect three identical Elemons to exchange them for their associated Gigamon. If another player already has that Gigamon, you may steal it. The game ends when someone captures three Gigamons or when the Elemon deck is empty.
In Gigamons, the player with the most Gigamons becomes an Elemage. If players are tied, the player with the most Elemons wins; a further tie promotes all tied players.
