Gùgōng: Pànjūn

About this expansion

Gùgōng: Pànjūn is a 2020 expansion for 1–5 players, adding four modular systems to the critically acclaimed Gùgōng for games of approximately 120 minutes.

Choose any combination of the four modules to shape each session and create considerable variety. The expansion introduces new ways to pursue rewards, manage risk, and influence the developing game while preserving the setting of the Ming Dynasty.

• The Summer Palace: Compete for majorities to gain extra servants, Jade, and the services of the mysterious Court Ladies. Specific Gifts can also be exchanged with officials to manipulate results, especially as the Emperor seeks a particular type of Gift.
• The Peasants Revolt: Gain support from the peasants, but push them too far and players must cooperate to avoid their wrath.
• The Palace Stairs: Choose a shorter or longer route for your Envoy toward the Palace of Heavenly Purity. The shorter path requires achievements, while the longer route offers early rewards before demanding taxes near the Palace.
• Extra Decrees and Gift Cards: Add new Decrees and special Gift Cards, including the lamp and jade knives, for further variation.

The Palace Stairs module gives Envoy movement added consequences: failing to pay the required taxes can send an Envoy backward. Meanwhile, The Summer Palace rewards careful majority play while offering opportunities to alter outcomes through Gifts.

With its mix-and-match design, Gùgōng: Pànjūn provides a flexible way to customize Gùgōng. Combine the modules however you wish for a fresh strategic challenge built around rewards, cooperation, achievements, and calculated decisions.
