About this board game
Guildhall is a 2–4 player game with a 45-minute play time, set in the Dark Ages as rival guild leaders compete to build economic stability and reach victory first.
You have opened a guildhall for like-minded professionals from across Europe. Gather these professionals into chapters, combine their strengths, and develop a thriving trade before your opponents can do the same.
Each profession grants a special ability, and that ability becomes stronger as you complete more of its set. The central challenge is deciding how far to develop a profession before converting it into valuable victory points.
- Gather professionals into chapters and build your guild.
- Collect complete color sets of professions, such as all five colors of Trader.
- Use each profession’s abilities, which grow stronger as its set develops.
- Cash in completed sets to purchase victory points.
When you cash in a complete set, you lose that profession’s ability until you can build it up again. This creates a constant choice between preserving useful powers and risking them for the victory points needed to win.
In Guildhall, speed matters as much as planning. Other players are gathering professionals and pursuing the same economic opportunity, so you must decide which chapters to develop, when to spend their abilities, and when to claim points.
The first player to gain 20 victory points on their turn wins. With its combination of set collection, escalating profession abilities, and carefully timed scoring, Guildhall puts every developing guild in a race to become the most successful.
