About this expansion

Kingdom Death: Monster – Sunstalker Expansion is a board game expansion for 1–6 players with a listed play time of 180 minutes, released in 2016.

Its story begins in a sky without day. A sad Shadow could play only in the small light of a lantern, so it discovered a hole in the sky and began stealing enough lanterns to fill it. After many generations, the Shadow completed its work and slept beneath its great light, dreaming of play.

When the Shadow awoke, all the light was gone. At the center of the hole in the sky stood a tiny shining entity with a great big mouth. The Shadow named this entity the sun, and the two played forever. This strange tale sets the stage for a dangerous showdown with the Sunstalker.

The encounter emphasizes survivor positioning and carefully coordinated attacks. Players must make use of their own shadows to turn the tides of battle, making placement and timing central to the confrontation.

  • A Sunstalker showdown focused on positioning survivors
  • Coordinated attacks that call for teamwork between players
  • Shadow-based tactics that can change the course of the battle
  • Rewards offering new long-range options
  • An evasive burst-damage armor set with low actual armor levels

Victory brings distinctive rewards, including tools for attacking from farther away and an armor set built around evasive burst damage rather than substantial protection. That combination gives the Sunstalker encounter a clear contrast between mobility, offense, and limited armor.

For players seeking a focused battle built around coordinated attacks and shadow play, Kingdom Death: Monster – Sunstalker Expansion presents a memorable challenge beneath a mysterious sun.
