About this board game
King’s Gold is a pirate dice game for 2–6 players that plays in about 15 minutes. Roll five dice, pillage ships and rival pirates, and collect more gold than anyone else before the supply runs out.
On your turn, roll the dice up to three times. Any die showing crossbones is locked until the end of the turn, while the remaining dice can be rolled again or left as they are. Once you stop, your final combination determines whether you gain gold, steal from another player, or pay coins to the King.
- Coin face plus cannon: Take that many coins from the box and place the same number in the King’s pile.
- Coin face plus skull: Steal that many coins from a player of your choice.
- Five coins: Take every coin in the King’s pile.
- Five skulls: Take all the coins from another player.
- Five cannons: Take every coin in the box and end the game immediately.
- Three or more crossbones, or another non-scoring result: Place three coins from your stash in the King’s pile.
Each roll creates opportunities to build your fortune, raid an opponent, or claim the King’s accumulated treasure. The dice also bring danger: poor results can force you to contribute to the King rather than strengthen your own stash.
King’s Gold ends when all sixty coins in the box have been removed. The player with the most coins wins and becomes the richest pirate on the coast and at sea.
