Knee Deep in Hexes is a 2-player strategy skirmisher for approximately 60 minutes, blending deck building with the excitement of classic real-time strategy games on a distant desert planet.

After humanity’s exodus from Earth, scarce resources fuel an intergalactic struggle. Build construction vehicles, extractors, factories, and military units while racing to establish your position on a tight battlefield. Victory comes by destroying your opponent’s headquarters or sending their most valuable units to the scrapyard as quickly as possible.

Before the conflict begins, each player chooses a faction made up of four companions: the General, Commander, Tech, and Trickster. Each companion brings a unique deck of action and war cards, with distinctive skills that can shape your strategy.

• Flexible deck building: Use predefined companion decks for a straightforward match or create advanced combinations from unique strategy cards.
• Variable worlds: Play a predefined casual map or draft planetary cards to build the battlefield before the game starts.
• Resource-driven development: Establish construction vehicles and extractors to gather materials and energy before the clash intensifies.
• Delayed battle declarations: A battle in the war zone you declare takes place at the end of your opponent’s turn, giving them time to react.

Action cards provide strategic advantages and help you take the initiative, while war cards deliver powerful bonuses during combat. Gather tanks, choose your attack zone carefully, and anticipate redeployments or sudden attacks elsewhere.

In Knee Deep in Hexes, every major decision carries risk: once you declare a war zone, your opponent gets a full turn to respond. With factions, companions, decks, and worlds offering substantial variety, each 2024 match can become a new test of timing and tactical judgment.
