About this board game
Lacuna is a 2023 game for exactly two players, with a playing time of about 15 minutes. Set on a pond at night, it focuses on collecting flowers through a simple series of actions.
The game takes only seconds to set up and is played entirely on a cloth mat. With no complicated preparation, players can quickly begin exploring the flower-filled pond and collecting what they need.
Lacuna’s rules are straightforward. Players draw an imaginary line between two flowers, place a pawn, and collect both flowers connected by that line.
- Draw an imaginary line between two flowers.
- Place a pawn and collect both flowers.
This concise structure makes the central interaction easy to understand: connect two flowers, position a pawn, and take the pair. The entire experience stays focused on the pond, the flowers, and the choices created by each line.
Designed for two players and a short 15-minute session, Lacuna offers a compact tabletop experience with minimal setup and simple rules. Its distinctive cloth-mat presentation and nighttime pond setting give the game a clear identity while keeping play easy to start.
