Lindisfarne

About this board game

Lindisfarne is a Viking board game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of about 45 minutes. You take the role of a Jarl, leading your clan on raids across Europe to seek treasures and prestige.

The game is played over six expeditions. During each turn, players roll dice based on the number of tokens they own, then place one or more Viking tokens on one of three game boards. Your placements determine who takes the lead and who gets to choose cards at the end of an expedition.

The sea is unpredictable, and luck can affect where your raiders land. You may arrive after a rival or find yourself at the wrong location, so deciding how many tokens to commit is crucial. The more tokens you place during a turn, the fewer dice you will roll on your next turn.

• Roll dice and place Viking tokens across three boards.
• Compete for the lead and choose destination or objective cards.
• Earn prestige through objectives, country leads, and reconstructed frescoes.

Destination and objective cards give your expeditions direction, while control of the boards can determine which rewards become available. Careful timing and fortunate rolls can help your clan secure valuable opportunities before your rivals do.

At the end of Lindisfarne, players score prestige points for completed objectives, the leads they achieved on each country, and the frescoes they reconstructed. The player with the most prestige is selected to join King Harald’s council.
