About this board game

Lofoten is a two-player board game with an approximate play time of 45 minutes, set in the historic Viking territory of the Lofoten archipelago.

Each player commands a fleet of longships and seeks to become the most powerful Jarl. To achieve this, you must load merchandise from the market into your longships and bring it back to your clan.

The game focuses on four essential goods. Each type of merchandise uses a particular scoring method, creating different ways to gain an advantage over the opposing Jarl. Your choices in the market and with your longships determine how effectively you can bring goods home.

Lofoten combines its Viking setting with a contest for Power Points. The final scoring decides which Jarl has earned more PP and therefore claims power over the archipelago.

With its emphasis on merchandise, longships, clans, and distinct scoring for each type of good, Lofoten presents a focused head-to-head challenge. The rotating board and card hand management give the game its standout mechanical identity while you work toward the highest final score.
