About this board game

Lords of Baseball is a card-driven strategy game for 1–4 players that takes about 150 minutes to play, with each season taking roughly 40 minutes.

Set at the beginning of the 20th century, the game places you in control of one of baseball’s charter franchises. You are an owner with the money and vision to help shape the modern game, making decisions that extend beyond the team on the field.

This is not a baseball simulation. Instead, Lords of Baseball focuses on the business of building a lasting sports dynasty. Across a predetermined three-, five-, or seven-season game, you will develop your franchise, compete against opposing teams, and work to turn your club into a successful enterprise.

• Invest in your franchise: Improve your team, stadium, media presence, and fan support.
• Use card-driven strategy: Draw from various card decks to alter team abilities and gain competitive advantages.
• Balance three priorities: Win games, earn money, and improve your stadium.
• Track the season: Record wins, fan support, and victory points on the main game board.

Each player uses a team mat and stadium mat to track the progress and development of their franchise. The challenge is maintaining focus across every part of the organization: concentrating too heavily on one category can leave you behind an opponent who keeps all three objectives in play.

Choose a short, medium, or long game and guide your club through multiple seasons of strategic decisions. Lords of Baseball supports 1–4 players and can be expanded to larger groups, offering a competitive framework for anyone who wants to build a baseball dynasty through business savvy and careful planning.
