About this expansion

Lost Ruins of Arnak: Twisted Paths is an expansion for 1–4 players with an approximately 120-minute play time, adding a larger double-sided map and two new research tracks to the world of Arnak.

Each side presents a distinct route through the island’s mysteries. On the daytime side, players scale the white stone of the Owl Temple, using unique temple tiles that can combine to create extra idol slots. This path also introduces a third research token: the lantern, which provides even stronger research rewards.

The night side leads into the dark caverns of the Spider Temple. Here, dark tablets can be used to invoke mysterious altars and place artifacts directly onto the research track, where they can be used while ascending it. Their power comes with a risk: becoming too ambitious can cost points.

  • A new double-sided map, larger than the base-game map
  • Two research tracks with unique mechanisms and components
  • New guardians, sites, assistants, temple tiles, lanterns, and dark tablets
  • Solo Rival tiles for the new maps
  • Purple Rival tiles and Rival Objectives

Twisted Paths also expands solo play with Rival tiles for both new maps, along with Purple Rival tiles and Rival Objectives that were previously released online as print-and-play mini expansions. These additions give solo players new content to explore across the expansion’s two settings.

As the final major addition to the world of Arnak, Lost Ruins of Arnak: Twisted Paths offers two contrasting approaches to research, discovery, and reward. It was previously included in the limited-edition Adventure Chest, which featured an original insert designed by CGE.
