About this board game

MammuZ is a 20-minute bluffing card game for 3–7 players, in which you race to get rid of prehistoric animals before anyone else.

Its asymmetrical deck features two mammoths, three bears, four deer, and progressively larger groups of other creatures, ending with nine mice. Before play begins, the deck is customized according to the number of players. Six dinosaur cards are also included, each with a special power.

At the start of a round, a player places one to four cards face down and announces that they are all the same type of animal. The claim may be truthful—or a complete bluff. The next player can continue by placing one to four cards and naming the same animal, or challenge the previous play by revealing one of its cards.

  • If the revealed card matches the animal claimed, the challenger takes all cards played into their hand.
  • If it does not match, the previous player takes all the played cards.
  • If the revealed card is a dinosaur, its special power takes effect.

After the challenge or play is resolved, the next player starts a new round. Whenever a player holds every card of a particular animal type, they immediately discard those animals and remove them from the game, helping their hand shrink.

The game ends as soon as a player has no cards left—whether they discarded a complete animal type or played their final cards without being exposed as a liar. With hidden information, risky claims, and well-timed challenges, MammuZ turns hand management into a lively contest of deception.
