About this board game

Master of the Galaxy is a 2018 4X board game for 2–4 players, with a listed play time of 120 minutes. Explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate as one of nine Elder Races competing to dominate a vast and dangerous galaxy.

Each player begins with one star system, one Race card, and a modest supply of resources. As the game develops, you fill your bag with new resources and draw from it to shape your plans. This bag-building system combines with card drafting and a developing technology tree to create several paths toward victory.

Use your resources to guide the growth of your civilization, then strengthen your position with Progress and Political cards. You decide whether to spread your people across the galaxy, pursue scientific advancement, or methodically eliminate your rivals. The setting draws inspiration from classic science fiction, films, and computer games while presenting its own colorful galactic conflict.

There are multiple ways to win in Master of the Galaxy:

• Annihilate your opponents.
• Build nine space bases.
• Achieve dominance in diplomacy, economics, or science.

Every resource drawn can influence your next decision, from developing your technology to preparing an offensive or advancing your race’s plans. With its blend of randomized resource management, cards, and technological development, Master of the Galaxy gives each player the freedom to choose how their civilization will rise—and how the galaxy will be conquered.
