About this board game
Munchkin Conan is a 168-card Munchkin core set for 3–6 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Released in 2012, it brings Robert E. Howard’s legendary Cimmerian hero into the humorous, chaotic world of Munchkin.
Choose from races including Kushite, Zamoran, Cimmerian, and Stygian, alongside the Cleric, Thief, Warrior, and Wizard classes. Face Thoth-Amon’s minions, Pict raiders, and abominable monsters while seeking powerful treasures such as the Sword of the Phoenix and Black Lotus. Many cards include quotations from Howard’s work, adding authentic literary flavor to the adventure.
The set introduces birthright cards, a new character element that works similarly to classes and races. You can have only one birthright in play at a time, discard it whenever you wish, and play one on your turn or when you first receive it.
- Noble lets you have an extra Comrade.
- Barbarian lets you ignore all “Usable By” and “Not Usable By” restrictions on items.
Munchkin Conan also features Comrades, its version of hirelings and similar companions from other Munchkin games. Each Comrade is linked to a class or birthright and provides some of its advantages. A Comrade can carry an item for you, including certain items you cannot legally use yourself, and can sacrifice itself to give you an automatic escape when running away.
The set contains 101 Door cards, 67 Treasure cards, and a yellow Munchkin-head six-sided die with dark red print. Its cards use the standard Munchkin card back, making Munchkin Conan a distinctive Conan-themed entry in the broader series.
