About this board game

Neuroshima Hex! 3.0 is a deeply strategic, post-apocalyptic board game that challenges your tactical prowess and decision-making skills. Set in the remnants of a fallen United States, the game takes you to a world dominated by powerful factions battling for supremacy over the dystopian landscape. The game is designed by Michał Oracz and is a reimplementation of the original Neuroshima Hex!

The theme of the game is heavily influenced by the Neuroshima RPG, where the remnants of humanity face off against AI-controlled machines, mutated beasts, and roving gangs of marauders. The game’s art and faction design deeply immerse players in this gritty, survivalist world.

The setting is a hexagonal grid, representing the ruins of America. Each player commands one of four unique factions, each with their own special abilities and units. The factions include The Hegemony, a gang of ruthless, close-combat specialists; The Outpost, humanity’s last defense, fortified against the onslaught; The Moloch, a machine faction controlled by an advanced AI; and The Borgo, a tribe of mutated humans with rapid reproduction capabilities.

The core mechanics revolve around tile placement, hand management, and tactical combat. Players draw and deploy unit tiles onto the board, attempting to control key areas and launch attacks on the enemy base. The game’s unique twist is its combat system: battles are not resolved immediately but initiated by specific tiles or when the board is full. This delay adds an extra layer of strategy, as players must think ahead to the eventual clash.

What makes Neuroshima Hex! 3.0 unique is its blend of spatial strategy, unpredictable combat, and asymmetrical faction powers. This combination ensures that no two games are the same and rewards flexible tactics over fixed strategies. While the game’s rules are straightforward, mastering the abilities of your chosen faction and predicting your opponents’ moves provides a rich and rewarding challenge.

The game offers a thrilling experience that’s part chess, part war game, and part survival horror. It’s a battle of wits and nerve, where victory goes not just to the strongest faction, but to the player who can best adapt to the chaos of the post-apocalyptic battlefield.
