About this board game
Of What’s Left is a 3–4-player card game with a 25-minute play time, set in the kingdom of Owlberta during the sleepy hours before dawn.
The Knight Owls are standing guard at five in the morning, but staying awake is becoming difficult. Your challenge is to let enough of your Knight Owls take a quick snooze without fully abandoning your post.
Described as an “almost-shedding” and climbing game, Of What’s Left focuses on managing the cards in your hand. Play toward shedding as many cards as possible, but watch the timing carefully: the moment one player sheds out, the game ends.
When that happens, the other players score points based on how many cards remain in their hands. The fewer cards you have left, the more points you receive, creating a delicate balance between getting close to empty and avoiding the moment you have nothing left.
- Players: 3–4
- Play time: 25 minutes
- Core challenge: Shed as many cards as possible without shedding out
- Scoring: Players with fewer remaining cards earn more points when the game ends
Every turn brings a question of timing: should you push closer to shedding, or keep a card in hand so you do not end the game too soon? With its compact play time and distinctive almost-shedding premise, Of What’s Left turns the goal of getting rid of every card into a careful exercise in restraint.
