Operation Mercury: The Invasion of Crete is a two-player grand tactical wargame about the German airborne invasion of Crete in May 1941, with an advertised play time of 1,710 minutes. Released in 2017, it uses the Grand Tactical Series 2.0 rules to recreate the desperate nine-day battle between German, Commonwealth, and Greek forces.

Players command divisions while maneuvering company-sized units across the island. The German side must secure a usable airfield and bring in vital mountain troops, while the Commonwealth player seeks to crush the landings or withdraw the bulk of the defending force to the southern evacuation ports. Allied morale shifts according to relative casualties and key events, potentially triggering evacuation and end-game victory conditions.

The game covers the major airborne drops and fighting from Heraklion and Rethymnon in the east to Maleme, Canea, Suda Bay, and the Askifou Plain. Its thirteen scenarios range from compact one-map engagements to the complete campaign across five maps, offering both focused battles and a sprawling contest of advance, delay, and withdrawal.
