About this board game

Owner’s Choice is an economic board game for 2–5 players that plays in about 45 minutes. Players manipulate the stocks of four companies, aiming to buy low, sell high, and finish with more money than their competitors.

The player with the most stock in a company becomes its President, while the other stockholders act as investors. Presidents have greater control over their companies’ fortunes, but rising prices are never guaranteed: stock values can go down as well as up.

A pawn moves around the board to determine both the game’s length and which company may have an opportunity to progress on each turn. Players have some influence over how far it moves, while the space it reaches determines what can happen next.

  • Select a company when the pawn reaches the appropriate space.
  • Contribute to the communal Fund and roll that company’s die.
  • Potentially trigger dividends for stockholders or change the company’s stock price.
  • Raid the Fund for personal gain, risking a reduction in the company’s stock price.

Each company has a distinct character, represented by its own mix of faces on the company die. As the game unfolds, players must decide how best to make money, support their own holdings, and potentially undermine companies that benefit their competition.

When the pawn reaches the Goal square, all stocks are cashed in at their current prices. The player with the most money wins, making every investment and calculated risk in Owner’s Choice matter until the final valuation.
