About this board game
Planet etuC is a 2–3-player shedding card game with an ecosystem theme, offering approximately 30 minutes of play. Players compete to empty their hands by playing cards that are stronger than the current play.
Every card has two ways to rank it: a number and a color. At the beginning of the game, neither ranking system is active. When a subsequent card is stronger by number, play follows numbers; when it is stronger by color, play follows colors. A card that is stronger in both ways leaves the rule undetermined, giving the next player a choice.
This shifting structure makes each play an opportunity to influence the strength of future cards. Careful planning is essential as players try to take control of the active ranking while getting rid of their own cards.
- Play one card, or two cards sharing the same number or color.
- Beat the current play with stronger numbers or colors, according to the active rule.
- Pass when you cannot or do not want to challenge the current play.
- Start a new trick when all other players have passed.
The cards used depend on the number of players, with equal numbers of card ranks and suits. For example, an Orange 2 can be beaten by a higher number or by a card with a higher-ranked color, while pairs can be challenged in comparable ways.
When one player plays every card from their hand, that player earns points. The overall winner is the first player to reach the specified point total. With its evolving card strengths and unusual creatures, Planet etuC combines straightforward shedding play with constantly changing tactical decisions.
