About this board game
Quarantine is a tile-laying board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Each player builds a hospital with an entrance and lobby while managing a steady stream of incoming patients.
The goal is to create the biggest and most efficient hospital, adding special rooms and abilities to bring new life to your facility. However, highly contagious patients can spread infection quickly, forcing entire wards to close under quarantine.
More than fifty other tiles are available, including two each of fourteen different special room tiles. Since players acquire these tiles through a distinctive Price-Drafting mechanic, every purchase requires careful judgment.
- Set a price for the tiles you want to draft.
- Give other players the opportunity to buy those tiles first.
- Balance supplying your hospital against the risk of overpaying.
- Build a hospital layout shaped by the tiles you acquire.
Price your services accurately and you can expand your hospital with the rooms and abilities you need. Set prices poorly, and another player may claim the tiles you wanted—or you may spend too much to secure them.
With dozens of tiles available, no two hospitals in Quarantine will be set up the same way. Released in 2013, it combines tile placement, purchasing tension, and the constant threat of infection in a struggle for medical supremacy.
